London Heathrow (LHR): Virgin Atlantic Little Red flight VS3044 approaches runway 09L arriving from Manchester (MAN).

Virgin’s Little Red brand launched in 2013 following the previous year’s acquisition of British Midland International (BMI/BD) by rivals British Airways (BA). BMI had provided UK domestic feeder services to Virgin’s Heathrow hub and Little Red was crated to provide feeder services from Manchester, Aberdeen and Edinburgh utilizing a fleet of four wet leased A320’s from Aer Lingus (EI). The concept did not prove economically successful and was abandoned in September 2015.
