Window Blind – American Airlines (AA) McDonnell Douglas MD-83
Taken on board N984TW (cn53634) on my final American Airlines MD-80 flight (AA1617 Omaha OMA to Dallas DFW).
The MD-80’s were finally retired from the AA fleet on 4th September 2019 after a steady reduction in the fleet.
This airframe was the last MD-80 built by McDonnell Douglas (line number 2287) and was the aircraft used for the type’s final revenue flight for American Airlines, operating AA80 from Chicago ORD to Dallas (DFW). The same day saw the aircraft ferried to Roswell for storage. The airframe completed 27,554 cycles and 53,598 hours in-flight.
